Wedding Jazz Band | Wedding of Sam & Paige | KL Malaysia

Hey guys, Jason Geh here. Today is May the 15th 2011 and it’s Sam and Paige’s wedding reception at Prince Hotel Kuala Lumpur.

The wedding couple contacted me two weeks ago to hire my Jazz Band to perform for their wedding event. I proposed a trio line-up consisting of a female singer accompanied by a saxophonist and myself on the keyboard, packaged with our sound system to amplify the band.

Sam, the groom specified that he wanted a mix of western, chinese and malay songs to be rendered during his special day. Paige, the bride favored more upbeat up-to-date repertoires. They have invited 420 guests comprising of mainly their family members as both have big families; more than a dozen siblings each.

Thus, I have chosen two sets of performance repertoire tailored to the couple’s preferences.

The evening started off at 8pm with my saxophonist ushering the entrance of the newly weds. We proceeded with the first session of our performance for the night, directly after the food presentation by the hotel. The band took a break on the 5th dish for the slide show, followed by the cake cutting and toasting ceremony.

Sam then gave a heart warming speech acknowledging her bride, their parents, friends and everyone who have contributed to the success of the wedding. The chi mui and heng tai’s then gave their versions. We continued with our second and final set of performance for the night with livelier songs, including Bruno Mar’s “Just the way you are” and current Korean hit song “Nobody”.
