Wedding Jazz Band @ Le Meridien KL, Malaysia

The Wedding Jazz Band of Jason Geh performed at a wedding reception at Le Meridien Hotel on 26th December 2009. The Jazz Band made up of 3 professional musicians and a versatile Wedding Singer entertained the guest with a collection of popular jazz standards, golden oldies, love songs and familiar chinese numbers.

The majority of the attendees at this wedding were chinese listening guest i.e the Jazz Band selected songs that related to them drawing constant appreciation via applause and smiles of approval after each song.

Jason Geh and his saxophonist started the evening’s entertainment at the reception area with light instrumental tunes while the guest chatted and sip their drinks. The Wedding Jazz Band then performed another 2 sets in the ballroom joined by the lovely singer and er hu player.

Jazz Band at Simon's Malaysian Wedding

The Jazz Band from JGE (Jason Geh Entertainment) performed live at the Malaysian Wedding of Simon Yeo and Shahira at Marriott Putrajaya, KL on the 18th of December 2009.

The wedding couple stumbled on Jason Geh’s websites six months ago during their search to hire a professional Jazz Band to perform at their wedding. They wanted a band that could not only play Jazz but other styles of music in the form of golden oldies, Malay, Chinese and love songs as their families and friends who will be attending the wedding will include both Chinese and Malay races.

JGE Jazz Band was the ideal group for their wedding music entertainment. Simon and Shahira finally agreed on a four piece band consisting of female singer, double bassist / vocalist, saxophonist and Jason himself on the keyboards. Shahira carefully selected songs from Jason’s song list to perform.

The newly weds were ushered into the ballroom by the band with the saxophone version of the tune “when I fall in love”. Upon reaching the stage (pelamin), the tea ceremony ensued followed by the Merinjis ceremony which is customary for all Malay style weddings in Malaysia.

Simon and Shahira then gracefully walk back to their main table accompanied by the song “when you say nothing at all” performed by the Jazz band. After the food presentation by the hotel, JGE Jazz Band began their music entertainment for the evening.

Among the songs performed by the band were “fallen”, “words”, “close to you”, “my girl”, “dia”, “islands in the sun”, “stand by me”, “just the way you are”, “can’t help falling in love”, “moon river” and many more.

JGE Wedding Singer at Junn’s Wedding, KL Malaysia

Wedding couple Junn and Vanessa invited JGE’s Wedding Singer and musicians to perform for their wedding reception at sime darby convention centre KL, Malaysia on 17th December 2009.

The wedding singer began their performance after the walk-in of the bridal couple with songs that are light and easy. The songs were actually short listed by Junn and Vanessa prior to the evening’s performance from the wedding singer’s song list.

Among the songs performed during the first session were “the way you look tonight”, “aku cinta padamu”, “when you tell me that you love me”, “when I fall in love”, “yueh liang tai piau wo ti shing”, “you are the sunshine of my life”, “quando quando quando” just to name a few.

After the video montage presentation, Junn and Vanessa were then invited up on stage by the emcees for their wedding speeches. The customary Chinese toasting ceremony then ensued.

The wedding singer and musicians then proceeded with their final set of performance for the evening with more upbeat repertoire as food and alcohol made its way into the system of about a thousand attendees.

The live band performed medley of cha cha and disco numbers with echoes of “yam seh” constantly being produced from the floor. The guest were drinking and grooving to the beat of the band, some even getting up to dance with roars of applause after each song.

Here’s some of the songs the wedding singer sang during the second set, “sway”, “yeh lai siang”, “dancing queen”, amor amor”, “do that to me one more time”, "perhaps perhaps perhaps”, “flashdance” etc.

The crowd encored the wedding singer to sing one last number in which she happily oblige before rounding off her performance for the evening.

Event Jazz Band at HSBC Launch in KL, Malaysia

Event Jazz Band from Jason Geh Entertainment performed at HSBC Amanah Premier Soft Launch at their main branch in Ampang KL, Malaysia on the 15th December 2009. Jason Geh, the band leader/Jazz keyboardist got two of his best musicians to join him to perform for this event.

The organizers wanted an experience three piece Event Jazz Band comprising of Saxophonist, Double Bassist and Keyboard player to entertain the attendees with easy instrumental Jazz music before and after the launch.

They found Jason’s website through the internet and knew Jason was the person to contact for their event after thoroughly scrutinizing his event blog that contain archives of all his past and present live performances in Malaysia in utter detail.

Some blog posts even contain short video samples that justify Jason’s experience, dedication, professionalism and the legitimacy of his services in the Malaysian music industry.

Some of the pieces played that afternoon by Jason’s versatile Jazz trio were “The look of love”, “On the sunny side of the street”, “Tequila”, “Isn’t she lovely”, “Over the rainbow”, “Watermelon man”, “What a wonderful world”, “Just the two of us”, “South of the border” and many more.

The three musicians displayed their dexterity on their instruments via the execution of tasty improvisation during the development of all the pieces performed.

Incidentally, this event was launch by Tuan Haji Musa Abdul Malek ,the CEO of HSBC Amanah Sdn Bhd.

Event Singer at NEC Dinner in KL, Malaysia

Event Singer from Jason Geh Entertainment was invited to perform for NEC’s Annual Dinner held in Sunway Resort on the 12th December 2009. The event singer was accompanied on the keyboards by Jason Geh, who was the winner of the International Electone Festival in Paris, France.

They performed their 1st set with a selection of easy listening songs while the guest wine and dine. Their performance was followed by preliminary stages of the lucky draw and games conducted by the esteemed emcee.

Jason Geh resumed their final set of live music for the night with more upbeat repertoire. The event singer injected more energy into her performance moving down to the audience interacting with them ensuring they sing along and have a good time.

The night continued with best dress contest, the main lucky draw and also a special comedy and dance performance by BB Keh Poh and his team. Incidentally, the event organizer contacted Jason Geh to perform for this event after watching them live last August at the Malaysia SME Congress.

Wedding Singer at Chinese Wedding in KL, Malaysia

This blog post feature the wedding singer and musicians at a Chinese wedding reception held in Equatorial Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on the 11th December 2009. This three piece live band made up of female singer, saxophone player and keyboardist / band leader was booked by wedding couple Ben and June 6 months prior to this event.

The live music commence at the cocktail reception outside the main ballroom where guest were entertained by the musicians on the grand piano and saxophone with some lively instrumental numbers. The musicians were later joined by their lovely female singer during dinner with a mix of English and Chinese songs.

Ben and June wanted to hire a professional wedding singer who is adept in singing both languages as they knew that their parents and friends loved oldies and Chinese songs. Among the repertoire requested were “tien mi mi”, “ye shang hai”, “ye lai xiang”, “xiao cheng gu shi”, “xiang shi her pan” and English classics like “can’t help falling in love”, “fly me to the moon”, “stand by me”, “just the way you are” and lots more.

The wedding singer was accompanied by Jason Geh, the 1988 International Electone Festival winner on the keyboards and Thomas, our very own Malaysian “Kenny G” on the saxophone.

Willie’s Wedding | Wedding Live Band Entertainment

Willie Tan and Jessica secured the Wedding Live Band of Jason Geh six months prior to this event. The wedding couple desired quality live music as entertainment during their romantic garden wedding held in Equatorial Hotel Bangi, Malaysia on the 5th December 2009.

They hired Jason’s music trio made up of the electric guitarist, bassist and saxophone / flute / percussion player who are professional Malaysian musicians with 25 years of performing experience.

Aside from being versatile and efficient on their instruments, they are also accomplished singers. Singapore, Hong Kong, Philippines and Vietnam are among countries they have previously toured, eventually settling down in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Jason’s wedding live band performed 3 sets in total, a short set during the cocktail reception and two more sets during dinner. Their selection of evergreens and jazz numbers combined a variety of rhythms from swing, bossa, foxtrot, R & B, light rock to samba, rock & roll, cha cha and funk.

Later during the evening, Willie surprise Jessica when he came up on stage to sing “You are the love of my life” as a special dedication to his lovely new bride.
