Jazz Band at Simon's Malaysian Wedding

JGE Jazz Band Live at Simon & Shahira's Malaysian Wedding

The wedding couple stumbled on Jason Geh’s websites six months ago during their search to hire a professional Jazz Band to perform at their wedding. They wanted a band that could not only play Jazz but other styles of music in the form of golden oldies, Malay, Chinese and love songs as their families and friends who will be attending the wedding will include both Chinese and Malay races.

JGE Jazz Band was the ideal group for their wedding music entertainment. Simon and Shahira finally agreed on a four piece band consisting of female singer, double bassist / vocalist, saxophonist and Jason himself on the keyboards. Shahira carefully selected songs from Jason’s song list to perform.

The newly weds were ushered into the ballroom by the band with the saxophone version of the tune “when I fall in love”. Upon reaching the stage (pelamin), the tea ceremony ensued followed by the Merinjis ceremony which is customary for all Malay style weddings in Malaysia.

Simon and Shahira then gracefully walk back to their main table accompanied by the song “when you say nothing at all” performed by the Jazz band. After the food presentation by the hotel, JGE Jazz Band began their music entertainment for the evening.
