Live Jazz Band at Malay Wedding in KL, Malaysia

Jason Geh’s Live Jazz Band performed at the wedding reception of Lin and Rifae at Dewan Sri Endon, Putrajaya, Malaysia. This Malay wedding was held on the 24th of October 2009. This 3 piece live band comprise of female singer, saxophone player / percussionist and Jason Geh himself on the keyboards.

Lin, the bride found Jason Geh on the internet 6 months ago during her search for a suitable live band to entertain her guest at her wedding reception. She needed a band that is versatile and experience enough to render a wide range of songs from Jazz standards, Malay favourites, and Classic love songs. She also required the band to accompany her brother Hezly on the vocals.

Among the songs performed were P. Ramlee’s “Hanya Dikau” and “Jelingan Manja”, Sean Ghazi’s “Ku Impikan Bintang”, Michael Buble’s “Sway”, Sheila Majid’s “Aku Cinta Padamu”, Stevie Wonder’s “You are the sunshine of my life”, Frank Sinatra’s “Come Fly With Me”, Engelbert Humperdinck’s “Quando, Quando, Quando”, LeAnn Rimes’s “How Do I Live”, Jim Brickman’s “Destiny” and many more.

Jason Geh’s band also provided music live for the “Merenjis” ceremony which is customary for all traditional style Malay wedding. The tunes played for this occasion were P. Ramlee’s “Di Renjis-Renjis Dipilis”, “Kenek Kenek Udang”, “Ketipang Payong” and Saloma’s “Selamat Pengantin Baru”.
