Here's a report on our live jazz band performance in Shangrila Kl, Malaysia on the 1st April 2009. This is Nestle Nutrition 65th Workshop Official Dinner where Nestle repersentative around the world came together to relax and unwine after two days of intense workshop.
I concocted a great jazz band line up as entertainment,comprising of a young and attractive female vocalist that was able to croon a mix of jazz standards to evergreens, an electric guitarist / vocalist that sings and plays like "George Benson", a saxophone player who will give "Kenny G" a run for his money : ) and myself who is managing the band as well as playing the keyboards(International Electone Festival Winner).
We performed a total of two sets, the first as light dinner entertainment and the second which was more interactive whereby some foreign delegates actually participated by coming up to render their favourite songs with the band. We notice the patriotic side of them when the songs they choose were their native folk songs. I recalled a russian lady, a vietnamese and Indian chap requesting whether we could accompany them on our instruments : )
They sang and had a good time and so did we. That jam session went on for about 10 minutes before we wrap up the evening.
I will be performing in Johor Bharu and Kuching this weekend with my band. I'm really looking forward to that...
