Jazz Band | Corporate Event | Lot 10, KL

Our Jazz Band performed for a corporate event in Lot 10, Kuala Lumpur on the 22nd of July 2011. Today’s band line up consisted of the singer, saxophonist and me; and we performed two sets of live music for a capacity crowd of 150.

I was stuck in the jam just around the lot 10 area simultaneously trying to figure out how to access its car park. Can’t even remember when was the last time I step into that building. But I manage to reach there on time for the sound check.

The event was held at the Teeq restaurant located on the 8th floor. There were trees and a garden outside the restaurant. It was breezy and pleasant; till the extent that the MC was having difficulty persuading the guests to enter the restaurant in order to start the event.

At 8:30pm, dinner finally commence after a brief opening speech by the president of the company. There were interactive puzzle games and lucky draws happening throughout the night intersperse by our Jazz Band performance.

We choose easy listening numbers to render during the first set and revved it up on the subsequent set. I notice that the crowd was enjoying the music, the food and the drinks!

The event concluded at about 11:00pm.

Live Music Band | Johor | Birthday Party

You probably found this blog when searching Live Music Band Johor Bahru in google? You’re at the right website. Perhaps the Music Band or Jazz Band in this video is what you’re looking for to hire for your event in Malaysia?

This 4 minute video above takes you through the band’s journey from KL to JB. The music group consists of three performers’ i.e a singer being accompanied by a saxophonist and keyboardist. They are popular in Malaysia’s event scene as their performance style and song selections cater to people with exquisite taste.

This is the birthday party of Jane Ng and his son Hector contacted Jason Geh, the band manager three days before the event. He went online searching for a good and trusted live band vendor and found Jason. Jason’s website showed up prominently on google.

After a thorough inspection by Hector, he knew that Jason was the one he wanted to hire to perform for his mum’s birthday celebration. Besides, there are limited amounts of quality jazz bands in JB. Thus, Jason and his team gladly took on the offer to travel down south from KL where they are based.

Do visit Jason Geh’s live music blog if you’re interested in hiring them to perform for your birthday. They perform for corporate events, annual dinners, product launches, anniversaries, appreciation dinners and weddings as well. Jason provides other types of live music groups besides the one on this video.

Live Music Groups | String Quartet & Strollers | KL Malaysia

Today’s event featured Live Music Groups from JG Entertainment i.e. the String Quartet and Strollers (Strolling musicians). The String Quartet consists of 4 stringed musicians and the Strollers of a saxophonist, guitarist and bassist.

Both groups are of contrasting styles. The String Quartet caters to the theme of the event as its Sunway Vivaldi’s function. Thus, they performed Vivaldi’s four seasons and other master pieces from that era.

The strollers provided soothing instrumental and vocal repertoire (jazz, oldies, latin etc) creating a pleasant ambient while the guests wine and dine.

Jazz Band | Trio | Instrumental | Malaysian Wedding

Wedding couple Shera and Azimah opted for my Jazz band to perform for their wedding reception today (2nd July 2011). They chose to go instrumental featuring the saxophonist and violinist.

We performed a combination of sentimental love songs with some jazz and oldies during dinner. At the 3rd dish, we took a break for a speech by Shera’s dad followed by the slides presentation.

Our Jazz Trio then continued with our second session of entertainment. The saxophonist and violinist took turns to render the melody complimenting each others performance with repertoire pre-selected by the newlyweds.
